Wholesale Clog Sizing: How to Plan a Size Run

Plan clog sizing and order ratios with fit samples, market data and clear conversion tables before bulk production.

Footwear mold and clog samples used for size development

Do not rely on the printed size alone

EU, US and UK size labels are conversion systems, not a guarantee that two products fit the same. Last shape, toe room, heel geometry and foam shrinkage all influence the finished internal space.

Approve fit using physical samples from the actual mold family. If the range covers adults and children, confirm where the grading changes and whether every size shares the same proportions.

Build a measurable size specification

Record the internal length method, outsole dimensions, key opening measurements and product weight for agreed sizes. The goal is not to measure every possible feature, but to identify the dimensions that protect fit and appearance.

  • Mold number and labeled size
  • Internal length measurement method
  • Outsole length and width
  • Opening and strap position where relevant
  • Finished product weight and tolerance

Use market data for the order ratio

A balanced-looking size ratio is not always a commercially useful ratio. Use past sales, retailer feedback or marketplace data from the target country. Keep enough volume in core sizes while avoiding very small production quantities at the edges.

For a new market, start with a conservative ratio and collect sell-through data before the repeat order.

Check shrinkage and paired consistency

Foamed molded footwear changes dimension as it cools and stabilizes. Compare left and right shoes, check a sample across the production window and agree when measurements should be taken.

Packaging should also protect the product from deformation during storage and transport, especially when pairs are compressed into cartons.

BUYER FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can one clog size cover two shoe sizes?

Some molded clog programs use dual sizing, but fit must be checked with the actual mold and target market. The printed conversion should follow the approved physical fit.

How should buyers choose a size ratio?

Use sales data or retailer guidance from the destination market, then confirm that each size quantity is practical for the factory's mold and packing process.
